Backsplash City, on the Grand Stand!

Backsplashes used to be a logical method of how to not stain your wallpaper as you were slinging spaghetti and tomato sauce around the kitchen. Now, they have become a focal point of the kitchen as well as other rooms in the home and, the options are absolutely endless! We will now explore some popular trends when it comes to backsplashes!

Subway Tile
Subway Tiles have been popular for quite awhile now. While old kitchen tiles were typically square, subway tiles are rectangular, smaller scale tiles. You can even get micro subway tiles. Subway tiles are traditionally seen in white but, they are made in all sorts of colors, as well as stainless steel looks.

Textural Tile
Four Seasons Flooring offers a wide selection of textural tile! You could pretty much categorize most of our tile as textural but, if you’re really looking for something to ‘pop’, check out our River Rock look tile, or one of our Water Wave look tiles.

Carrara marble is a classic look and is very popular right now. It can be done in black, white, or a mixture of both.

Faux Brick
Depending on how it’s done considering the rest of the kitchen design, cabinets, and fixtures, faux brick can give an urban look or a traditional and homey look. It can be done in standard brick colors or white brick or black brick.

Herringbone, Hexagon, and more!
Herringbone is always a great way to do something a little bit different but not go ‘over-the-top’ bold. You can use a single color, use a monochromatic color scheme, or use some high-contrast colors. A little more out-of-the-box would be one of our hexagon tile looks. We also have many different styles and color combinations that make our hexagon tiles looks very aesthetically pleasing.

Stainless Steel
Stainless Steel is a look one doesn’t typically jump too when thinking about backsplash but, when done right, it can be very visually appealing. It has been used with subway tiles, micro-tiles, used in mosaic tilework, and also in conjunction with glass tile.
